Shine Engineering is a Consulting Engineering firm founded in 2000 by John M. Shine P.E. We are currently located in Montville, NJ. Specializing in the engineering and design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems, Shine Engineering is licensed in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. We are also LEED accredited, and pride ourselves in being able to use and design the newest and greenest systems available today. In todays society, where energy efficiency has become the new standard, Shine Engineering offers full energy auditing and modeling to study the efficiency of your building. A full energy audit will help Shine's engineers discuss with you the strengths and weaknesses of your current systems. We can then propose adjustments and upgrades to help make your building greener, and over time, ultimately save you money. Pay For Performance

Let Shine Engineering assist your building in becoming more energy efficient and help reduce operating costs while helping save money on the installation of Energy Reducing Measures through Pay For Performance.Shine Engineering, P.A. has been selected by New Jerseys Clean Energy Program (NJCEP) as an Approved Partner for the states Pay for Performance initiative. NJCEP is a statewide program administered by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU), and its Pay for Performance program is designed to provide incentives to large commercial and industrial customers who comprehensively upgrade their facilities through investments in energy efficiency.The Pay for Performance Program takes a comprehensive, whole-building approach to energy efficiency, and is comprised of an Existing Buildings component and a New Construction component. As an Approved Partner in both components, Shine Engineering will be part of a network that will provide technical services under direct contract to Pay for Performance participants. Acting as an energy expert for participants, Shine Engineering will develop an Energy Reduction Plan (ERP) for each project with a whole-building technical analysis via a traditional energy audit, a financial plan for funding any recommended energy efficient measures, and a construction schedule for installation.

Shine Engineering, P.A. was founded in 2000. The firms principal is John M. Shine, P.E. graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology. We are a consulting engineering firm, in private practice, responsible for the design of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems. The firm provides contract engineering services for construction of institutional, office, and industrial buildings, shopping centers, churches, hospitals, and apartment complexes.Shine Engineering is one of the leading engineering companies in LEED/Green design. The firm is in the process of completing its fifth LEED Platinum building and has made a commitment to introducing Green/ Energy Efficient Design in all its design.Beginning at the conceptual design phase, Shines engineers develop cost-effective solutions and maintain close contact with the design professionals to ensure a coordinated design effort. This eliminates costly change orders during the construction phase, and contributes greatly to a construction project that is completed on time and within budget.The company is supported by a unique blend of highly educated professionals, including accredited members of NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME, and IEEE, as well as technicians who have extensive practical experience. The staff is construction oriented and takes pride in the fact that their designs are buildable. The staff continues to enhance its performance by pursuing education advancement, participating in industry seminars, and attending professional society meetings and technical report committees.Shines comprehension of the clients needs, insight from previous experience, application of technical capabilities and internal quality control systems are the basis for our success.

About The Founder

John M. Shine

After serving a 5 year term as an aircraft mechanic of the United States Air Force, Mr. John M. Shine received his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Mr. Shine started as a project engineering for Vincent J. Barone Consulting Engineers, responsible for the design of HVAC systems and the supervision of plumbing and sprinkler designs. His hard work led him into the position of Senior Project Manager for PMK Groups Engineering Department, overseeing projects ranging from commercial/retail spaces to high-rise residential apartment buildings, and everything in between.John M. Shine founded Shine Engineering P.A. in July of 2000 and is licensed in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
